God Save the Pils
Arcadia Brewing Company has always strived to stay connected to our British-inspired, American-crafted roots since our establishment in 1996. A fine example of this commitment can be seen, felt and tasted in this collaboration beer, God Save the Pils.
The origins of this partnership started with a visit to the medieval market town of Faversham in Kent, England, home of the storied Battle of Britain. There we met the Master Brewers of Shepherd Neame, the oldest brewer in England, where art and science has been blended into award-winning, world-class beers since 1698. Together we sought to design a beer that is respectful to our brewing traditions, yet unique in its execution. The result – Arcadia’s first ever lager beer!
This unfiltered Pilsner-style beer is loaded with hops from the “Garden of England”, the name given to the famed Hop Yards of Kent, and brewed with 100% English malted barley. A very easy drinking lager with a hop character that will please both Pilsner and IPA fans.
What makes this beer truly unique is its utilization of a new yeast strain, different from that which Arcadia has been known for using in open fermentation techniques for over 20 years! The installation of two 100bbl closed fermentation tanks in 2016 gave Arcadia the ability to try new yeast strains. This opened up the company’s portfolio of offerings and gave the brewers the ability to be creative in ways that were not previously accessible.
Honored to have joined forces with our friends and colleagues at Shepherd Neame, we hope you enjoy God Save the Pils, our first ever closed fermentation beer!
