Celebrity Guest Bartenders Fundraising for Huntington’s Disease
May 2 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Joshua Taylor created an event called 2018 Paddle For a Cure for Huntington’s Disease. Proceeds from this event support the mission and programs of HD organizations like The Shepherd’s Gift: GM1 for HD.
Arcadia is excited to be teaming up with Joshua and his organization to raise more money, as well as awareness on May 2nd at our Kalamazoo facility. The race day will be held on May 19th in Hastings but we are right on a great river too that you can canoe or kayak down to practice for the race day. Pull up to our shore and come on in for a beer and support both Joshua’s, event coordinators of Paddle for a Cure and their bartending skills!
Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the faulty gene that causes HD. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease. Many describe the symptoms of HD as having ALS, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s –simultaneously.
