La Jota Vineyard Co. is just another brand producing yet another magnificent Merlot, made by Christopher Carpenter. This is constructed of fruit in Howell Mountain, a vineyard I have visited together with all the La Jota Team.
You feel like you’re on top of Napa Valley with rolling forests from the most inland corner of this mountain. Tasting the wine at the vineyard, it was developed in added a component to the problematic taste to describe.

Ventisquero gray single block merlot 2014, 13 percent, 75cl: 15.99, Flagship Wines
Ventisquero started making wine in Chile in 2000. It is directed by a young group of entrepreneurs whose purpose is to create distinctive, high-quality wines.
This merlot from head winemaker Felipe Tosso is also, as its name implies, a superior product made from a local harvest of little focused bunches of blossoms in one block in Apalta from Chile’s Colchagua Valley.
Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, it is a full-bodied wine that bursts with intense red fruit tastes allied to slick, smooth tannins.
ALPHA OMEGA WINERY
Another Unbelievable Napa Merlot is by the Alpha Omega Winery, the 2015 Napa Valley Merlot ($100). This is a gorgeous Napa Valley Merlot with fruit chosen from Newton Spring Vineyard at Spring Mountain, a few of Napa Valley’s best Merlot wineries.

From a Chilean winery recognized so long ago as 1935, this young and medium-bodied crimson from the Colchagua Valley brings a fruity vibrancy and a subtle oakiness into the table.
A smattering (2 percent ) of malbec contained, its blend of ripe plum, blackcurrant, and black cherry flavors come with an upfront appeal and should prove a perfect companion for beef, lamb, or game.
Another excellent Chilean Merlot I recently had the joy of tasting was The Alcance Grand Merlot out of Alcance Wines. This was delicious Merlot with daring, rich flavors I adored, incredibly sleek, and smooth in beautiful texture.

Saint Clair leader block 17 Hawkes Bay merlot 2016: 13.5%, 75 cl: 20.55, Wine Poole
A somewhat unique merlot out of New Zealand created from a tiny package of vines inside the Gimblett Gravels wine-growing region of Hawkes Bay.
Gradually tended throughout ripening and harvesting, the consequent full-bodied wine has a deep, textured bramble and damson taste together with traces of cherry and spice. It is, therefore, a perfect game for any dish that is possibly exotic and somewhat hot.
This brand, Odfjell, makes biodynamic and organic wines and produces some gorgeous wines, particularly this Merlot.
I had the opportunity to taste many wines and fulfill winemaker Arnaud Hereu and have been dismissed. Their sleek, elegant, beautiful wines are not just by their smart, beautiful wines but the simple fact that they’re biodynamic, from Chile, and many wines are at the 15 – $35 range.
